You know, I like the 3rd one best. Something about having the eyes close together works well. I think having big eyes far apart makes the face look surprised or a bit loony, but big eyes close together seems okay. I wonder why that is?
Anyway, I'm thinking that there's more expressive potential in #3, followed by #4, then #1, and lastly #2.
I'm with her. (Literally. As in, in the same room. But also in preferring third from the left. After that, the order's off a bit since I prefer 1, 2, then 4 -- but that's not a big deal.)

I too am partial to #3. To be purely objective though you should have had them all looking the same direction. :)
